Keep Meeting Together – Gathered or Scattered – Ed Tomlinson
One of my favourites passages in the Bible is Acts 2 when the spirit comes upon the disciples and the early church and transforms them. One of the results of this is that, “Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favour of all the people, And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” (Acts 2 vs 46,47)
Meeting together is the essence of our life as a family of Christians and many of us have found that we can still do this effectively with technology even when we can’t physically meet. Our housegroup has only recently been able to do this but it has been wonderful to start meeting again. I know of others who are now playing Bridge like this, have painting clubs and other interest groups. It’s not the real thing but it can be pretty close.
As we continue to move out of lockdown it’s really important that we continue to use this technology as many will still be relying on it for social contact. Equally we need to keep in contact via other means with those that do not have access to the technology. But if you are someone who doesn’t have access to it, but wants it and you need some help to get you going, please let the Leadership Team know and we’ll talk to you about what you might need and help you along the way.
