Saturday 16th May – Gill Smith
Let’s take some time to thank God for Dronfield. I have lived here for almost 50 years and have always walked a lot, along with my husband Mick, but just lately we have discovered lovely places we have never been before, all within walking distance. We live in a lovely town in a beautiful area, lots there for which to give heartfelt thanks.
We know that as a church we are involved with our community and reach out in many ways. At the present time of course, we cannot use our building but that does not stop us from praying for our neighbours, streets, houses, council, posties, delivery drivers, shop workers and folk who we see through our windows. Let’s thank God for each one of them.
I have become aware of 2 groups set up since the lockdown, Tracy’s lunches for lonely, vulnerable folk delivered to their door and Sheelagh’s facemasks, donated, cut out, sewn and distributed all over the area and indeed as far as Essex.
Let’s thank God for all the love, commitment, caring and compassion being shown in our home town, may God bless us and all those we pray for and love, and may we continue to show God’s love in our community.
