We believe that young people are members of our wider Christian community now, today. They are God’s gift to us and we have a responsibility to nurture them in all aspects of their lives, but particularly in their spiritual development, seeking that all of them come to personal faith in Christ as their Saviour and Lord, the solid rock on which they can build their lives.
We value young people as part of the church body and we want to enable them to grow holistically by providing a number of both social and Christian activities. We believe they are a vital part of the church and want to encourage them to participate in developing their learning and the decisions made by the church. We also want to enable them to grow spiritually by encouraging them to develop in five areas.
-
Community – We desire to create an environment where they feel cared for and safe. We seek to establish trust and earn the right to speak truth into their lives.
-
Worship - We want to see God at the centre of their lives. Our desire is that God is not just part of their lives but is their life.
-
Discipleship – We want to foster a passion to learn more about God and his word. We desire to take them from where they are to where God wants them to be.
-
Service – We want them to move to a place spiritually where they are living out their faith. Serving each other, the Church and the community.
-
Outreach – We want to create a supportive environment where they are able to bring non-Christians to hear the gospel message. Also equip them with the ability to share their faith.
This vision relates to the Small Group Matrix by Polich & Scandlyn. It also ties in with the churches overall vision which uses Rick Warren five Purposes for a purpose driven life.
