We have begun to develop a new and exciting side to our ministry - a puppet Ministry.

It all started (as is so often the case in many churches) with one person's infectious enthusiasm. An offer to set up a training day with One Way UK and come November 2003 we had a training day with over 40 people from DBC and other churches.

One Way laid on a fantastic day - no lie back and be lectured to. This was hands on stuff with full participation. Ages ranged from youth to senior citizen. All got their hands on puppets and learned the basics of puppetry and theatre.

We've still not fully recovered and there is an excited buzz and enthusiasm from all who participated.

We now have a number of puppets and it's a good excuse to develop new characters.

We decided to call our ministry the DBC House of Puppets and now hope to become part of the regular facilities available to our own church and others locally.

We have begun too to include scripts and services in the Resource Centre.

We've also included a few photos to show you how simple - yet how effective puppets can be.
